Personal data processing policy

This policy describes how Materia Prima collects, uses, stores and protects the personal data of people who write to us or visit this site. It is issued in compliance with Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, Decree 1074 of 2015 and other Colombian personal data protection rules (habeas data).

2. What data we collect

Only what we need to handle your request:

  • Contact data: name, company, email, phone and the message you write in the form.
  • Browsing data: pages viewed, where the visit came from, device type and approximate location data, collected by Google Analytics only if you accept cookies.

We don't request or process sensitive data (health, ethnic origin, religious or political beliefs, biometric data, sexual orientation) or data about children and adolescents. If we receive information of that kind without asking for it, we delete it.

  • Answering your requests, quotes and business questions.
  • Sending you information about our brands and products when you have authorized it.
  • Managing the business relationship, orders and invoicing.
  • Understanding how the site is used in order to improve it, in aggregate.

We don't sell your data or hand it to third parties for advertising.

4. Authorization

By sending the contact form, or writing to us by email or WhatsApp, you authorize the processing of your data under the terms of this policy. You can revoke that authorization at any time by writing to comercial@materiaprima.com.co, unless there is a legal or contractual duty to keep it.

5. Your rights as data subject

Law 1581 of 2012 gives you the right to:

  • Know, update and correct your personal data.
  • Request proof of the authorization you gave us.
  • Be informed about how we use it.
  • File complaints with the Superintendence of Industry and Commerce (SIC) for violations of the law.
  • Revoke the authorization and request deletion of your data, when no legal or contractual duty prevents it.
  • Access your personal data free of charge.

6. How to exercise them

Write to comercial@materiaprima.com.co with the subject «Data protection», stating your name, the data or right you want to exercise and a way to reply to you. Requests are handled by Materia Prima's sales team.

  • Inquiries: we reply within a maximum of ten (10) business days. If that's not possible, we'll tell you why and handle it within the following five (5) business days.
  • Claims: we reply within a maximum of fifteen (15) business days. If that's not possible, we'll tell you why and give you a date, which will not exceed the following eight (8) business days.
  • If a claim arrives incomplete, we'll ask you to complete it within the following five (5) days. After two (2) months without a reply from you, the claim is considered withdrawn.

7. Who we share data with

We work with technology providers that process data on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • Hostinger — website hosting.
  • Google Analytics — audience measurement, only with your consent.
  • Odoo — the system where we manage business requests.

Some of these services are located outside Colombia, so your data may be transferred or transmitted internationally with the safeguards the law requires.

8. Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics cookies to understand how people browse it. They are not activated until you accept them in the notice that appears when you arrive: until then, measurement stays off. If you choose «Decline», they are not installed and any existing ones are removed. You can change your mind by clearing the site's data in your browser, which will make the notice appear again. We don't use advertising or profiling cookies.

9. Security and retention

We apply reasonable technical and administrative measures to prevent unauthorized access, loss or alteration of data. We keep it for as long as the business relationship lasts and for any additional time required by legal, accounting and tax obligations.

10. Effective date

This policy is effective as of October 1, 2026. Databases will be kept for as long as they are needed for the purposes described. Any substantial change will be published on this same page.
